2014 Grantchester Charity Runs: Report and Results….

2015 Grantchester Charity Runs Details, Click Here

A glorious day awaited the 200+ runners for the 2014 Grantchester Charity Runs starting at the Grantchester Cricket Club Spring Lane Ground (which was looking an absolute picture) over our cross country course with spectacular views over Cambridge. This year the Charity runs were supporting ACT (Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust) and it was good to see Jo Pears with the rapidly becoming world famous ACT cupcakes!!
We were especially glad to welcome our Lead Sponsor, Justin from Flair Catering,
who introduced our honorary starter, Lottie who hosts ‘Drivetime with Lottie Booth’ from 3-7pm over at Star107 FM.
Thanks Justin, Jo and Lottie!

Conditions couldn’t have been better for marshalling (which I was doing) so I can only assume that it was equally enjoyable for our runners. Certainly the facial expressions at the 8km mark suggested that a good time was being had by all, well most anyway. Over at GCC central, the results and photos are being poured over and analysed. Full results will appear shortly and a gallery of photos can be found here. If you post a comment with your race number I will check to see if we have an action shot of you!

Please get in touch if you have any suggestions for future Charity Runs as we are always striving to make it a better experience for everyone involved. It’s always good to hear from the Grantchester Charity Run participants and the organizers were particularly gratified to get the following e-mail this morning.

Hi Steve,
I just wanted to say what a great day it was today. This is the first time I have done the Grantchester 10k and now we are talking of a family effort next year including getting the kids to do the 3k run! The course was beautiful, well sign posted and marshalled, and of course the sausage bap at the end was just the ticket. The fantastic weather also played a part in making it such a lovely day as it meant we could enjoy a post run cream tea sitting outside in The Orchard
Could you tell me where/when I could find the results for the race as my phone packed up halfway round and so I have no idea how I did.
See you next year!
Ben

And the leading times are:
10k
1. Krzysztof Franasek – 41 mins 24 secs

2. Ben Argyle – 42:24
3. Adrian Allen – 43:34

3k
1. Anthony Riseley – 13:00
2. Edward Few – 13:20
3. Georgina Baldwin – 13:30

Congratulations all and more to come…….

I have just moved to Live in Cambridge fromBarcelona and this was my first race here. I would like to congratulate the organisationn for such a great event. I have enjoyed myself a lot, and I am proud of having helped a little bit the fight against cancer. Keep on doing this excellent job.
Also thanks to the Marshalls and all the volunteers. See you next year!

Ignore that, I see they’re on another page. Might be worth pointing that out on this page, though.

    1. Will do! Thanks for the suggestion.
      Best
